Acne Cleanser
A guide for learning about how to find a great blackhead removal tool and other resources for acne
For many a young woman or man, one of the most important possessions that you will find on their night table is their trusty bottle of acne cleanser. Acne cleanser is used to remove impurities and dirt on the skin, hopefully preventing the development and spread of what used to be known as “adolescent spots,” as acne is mostly prevalent among teenagers.
Acne is basically caused by the overproduction of the natural oils sebum and keratin by the sebaceous glands in the skin. The reason that this occurs in teenagers is because the hormonal changes that typically occur during puberty accelerate the production of oils in the skin. The idea of acne cleanser is that it cleans away these oils, making it less likely for the pimples and pustules of acne to develop.
There are many types of acne cleanser on the market. Some are based on natural ingredients such as dandelion root, aloe vera, licorice root, Echinacea, and turmeric. Such ingredients are very gentle and it is reckoned that at the very least they will not harm a sensitive skin, and at the very most they will help to keep the acne away.
If, however, you are looking for something a little more conventional that you can purchase from your local pharmacy, you should consider the following when looking for an acne cleanser:
Do you want a foaming acne cleanser? Non-foaming cleansers do not dry out the skin so much, so you should consider whether the foaming type with the appealing packaging is really what you want. You should also consider, taking into account the extent of your problem, whether or not you need a medicated cleanser. Medicated cleansers can prevent outbreaks of acne, but they can have a drying effect and are probably better if you are not using any other kind of medication on your spots.
Do you have a sensitive skin? Are you prone to allergies? If so, you should first ascertain that whatever you decide to put on your skin is hypoallergenic, otherwise you could find that your acne cleanser ends up making you look worse than ever. In the same way, even if you are not allergic, if your skin is very sore from the acne, you should look for a mild cleanser that will not be too rough on you.
If you are already undergoing skin treatment for your spots, you are probably best advised to ask your dermatologist which acne cleanser is the best for you. Whatever type of acne cleanser you end up using, remember that overusing it can make your skin very dry, which is also no good, so please make sure to use it in moderation. This is sometimes surprising to new users.
And always remember – don’t allow yourself to become stressed by your acne. Use the best acne cleanser you can find and hope that it will soon pass. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder as it is, and hopefully your skin will soon regain its proper glow.
