Blackhead Remover

A guide for learning about how to find a great blackhead removal tool and other resources for acne

One of the first signs of your dear child becoming a preteen is when he or she comes running up to you to show you the first blackhead to appear on their nose. “See,” they say with great pride, “I’m growing up!” But you will know that your child has truly become a teenager when they start moaning about the same blackheads, saying that the class heartthrob doesn’t love them anymore because they have a few tiny black spots on the side of their nose. And all of a sudden, blackhead remover becomes a part of the household budget.

So what are blackheads, and what is blackhead remover? Blackheads are a form of acne, caused when excess oils accumulate in the ducts of the sebaceous glands and block the pores of the skin. These oils, which look black, but are actually oxidized to that color, are a blend of keratin and sebum. The reason why blackheads (or acne in general) develop in teenagers is because the surge in hormones that occurs at puberty increases oil production in the skin. These little spots, which can look very unsightly if they appear in excess, can be removed with various types of blackhead remover.

First of all, one of the best types of blackhead remover is actually – good old-fashioned prevention. If we make sure to keep our skin clean, the removal of excess oil and dirt will prevent blackheads from building up in the first place. However, it is also important to note that if we cleanse the skin too much, this can actually lead to the production of more blackheads because when the skin feels too dry, it automatically starts reproducing the oils that it appears to lack. Once again, there is too much sebum in the skin, leading to more blackheads. Therefore, every night, after cleansing and toning the skin, it is a good idea to use a moisturizer to restore the oils that the skin needs to prevent the growth of new blackheads.

If, however, these measures don’t work, there are various kinds of blackhead remover sold at the local pharmacy. One is a “blackhead pen,” which is used to squeeze out the blackhead in a safe, hygienic way. Before using it (or any other type of blackhead remover), you should put warm water on the skin to open the pores first and make it easier to remove the oils. Another type of blackhead remover is a pore strip, which is put over the blackheads and rips them away. This apparently has quite a high success rate.

If you want a gentler, more natural type of blackhead remover, you could apply any one of the following to your skin: fenugreek, coriander leaves, curd, honey, lemon juice, a rose and oatmeal mask, potatoes, or radish seeds.

However, the best blackhead remover probably is, apart from a good cleansing routine, a healthy diet without too many oily foods, enough sleep, and a lot of patience. It takes a few years, but most people do grow out of blackheads before they move on to the next stage, wrinkles.
